Working as a waiter at the inhouse Striaton Gym restaurant, Cress was one of the three leaders of the Gym, alongside his brother's Cilan and Cress. Specialising in water Pokemon, he would challenge potential trainers to determine whether they were ready to compete in Unova’s Pokemon League.Highly proud of his Panpour, he believed that he was the strongest of the triplets.
Cress was challenged to a gym battle by Hilda, who overpowered his team with her Pansage.
Although expressing incredulity at his loss, he handed over the Trio Badge and Work Up, wishing them luck with the next stage of their quest.
Despite receiving a message from Bianca to help aid an all-out assault on Team Plasma’s Castle, he was unable to arrive in time.
